What to Take to Relieve Constipation

While working through my company’s human resource software on night I felt unease in my stomach and as the night progressed it got worse. I went to my doctor the next day and he advised me that I had suffered from constipation. He gave me the following advice and information.
Being constipated can be quite upsetting, especially when it happens regularly. Besides this, constant constipation can often lead to painful piles or even fissures on the rectal wall. Fortunately, there are numerous ways of treating or getting some relief from constipation. There are numerous home remedies which you can use; such as:
1. Drink plenty of fluids. Having plenty of fluids ensures that the bowel movement is smooth. Drinking around 6-8 glasses of water helps in efficiently cleaning the system.
2. Add extra fiber to your diet. Having around 20 to 35 grams of fiber is crucial to maintain smooth bowel movements. Some foods rich in fiber are oats and wheat. Try spreading the consumption of fiber throughout the entire day, so that it works even better.
3. Doing a lot of exercise. It has been found that exercise helps in relieving constipation to significant degree.
4. Mango is also quite helpful in regulating the bowel movements.
5. Brisk walking for 2-3 kilometers per day can assist in curing constipation.
6. If you are looking for a quick and effective way to get relief from constipation, then you can always have laxatives. Laxatives can quickly do the trick and are recommended for those suffering from severe constipation.
